“One Sustainable Ocean” – For a More Sustainable Sea
From June 27 to July 1, in parallel with the 2nd United Nations Ocean Conference, the One Sustainable Ocean initiative will take place, anchored in two main events—Ocean Science and Business2sea and Ocean Literacy Week—which will include a wide range of activities in different venues across the city of Lisbon.
The program includes workshops, exhibitions, cinema, art, music, debates, demonstrations, and business, with the purpose of broadening knowledge and awareness about the importance of the ocean, promoting its sustainable use, and demonstrating the opportunities it can represent, as well as providing countless opportunities to share ideas about the future of the ocean, sustainability, the circular economy, science, blue economy business models, and innovation.
The FCT, together with Lisbon City Council, Fórum Oceano, and Pavilhão do Conhecimento – Centro Ciência Viva, among other entities, is involved in organizing the One Sustainable Ocean initiative, more specifically in the space dedicated to science – Ocean Science and Business2sea – which takes place under the umbrella of the Portugal Pavilion in Parque das Nações.
The Ocean Science and Business2sea sub-event is an opportunity to highlight and showcase the work and actions that Portugal has been developing in the areas of science, innovation, and blue entrepreneurship, promoting the country nationally and internationally. The overall objective of Ocean Science and Business2sea is to present developments in knowledge, as well as technological developments and their applications, in a scientific and business context, in favor of ocean sustainability and how these are contributing to the implementation of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, namely Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 14.
Admission is free, but registration is required.
