Paulo Quaresma takes up position as member of the FCT

Paulo Quaresma took office today as a member of the Board of Directors of the Foundation for Science and Technology (FCT).

Professor at the University of Évora, Paulo Quaresma held the positions of Vice-Rector for Research and Development from 2014 to 2018 and Director of the School of Science and Technology from 2009 to 2013.

He holds a PhD in Computer Science from Universidade Nova de Lisboa (1997), specializing in Artificial Intelligence and Natural Language Processing. He was responsible for several doctoral, master's, and bachelor's degree courses and supervised several doctoral and master's theses.

He has coordinated several research projects funded by various Portuguese and European entities and has published over 100 scientific articles in international journals and conferences.

Paulo Quaresma replaces Nuno Feixa Rodrigues, who joined the FCT Board of Directors in April 2019 and is now stepping down.
