Paulo Quaresma takes over as FCT board member

Paulo Quaresma took office today as a member of the Board of Directors of the Foundation for Science and Technology (FCT).

A full professor at the University of Évora, Paulo Quaresma held the positions of Vice-Rector for Research and Development from 2014 to 2018 and Director of the School of Science and Technology from 2009 to 2013.

He has a PhD in Computer Science from Universidade Nova de Lisboa (1997), specializing in Artificial Intelligence and Natural Language Processing. He has been responsible for several curricular units for PhDs, Masters and Undergraduate degrees and has supervised several PhDs and Masters.

He has coordinated several research projects funded by various Portuguese and European organizations and has published more than 100 scientific articles in international journals and conferences.

Paulo Quaresma replaces Nuno Feixa Rodrigues, who joined the FCT Board of Directors in April 2019 and is now stepping down.
