Portugal and Luxembourg strengthen bilateral scientific cooperation

On April 5, the FCT and the Luxembourg National Research Fund (FNR) signed a Memorandum of Understanding that encourages bilateral scientific cooperation between the two countries. The agreement between the FCT and the FNR thus makes it possible to support joint research between two countries, which have maintained important socioeconomic relations for decades.

Through this Memorandum, research teams will be able to develop their joint projects in the fields of Materials Sciences , Biomedical and Health Sciences , Sustainable Resource Management, Service Innovation and Societal Challenges . The FNR and the FCT will finance the Luxembourgish and Portuguese components of the approved applications, respectively, and in accordance with the financial practices of each institution.
