CMU Portugal Program Opens Call Studentships

The FCT has opened applications for the 2022/2023 edition of Call Studentships Call (BD) under the Carnegie Mellon Portugal Program (CMU Portugal). The Call award up to 10 Studentships , to be carried out in Portugal and at CMU (Carnegie Mellon University) in the context of dual doctoral programs. The areas covered by Call the respective application deadlines are as follows:

• Computer Science (CS) | applications until December 9, 2021
• Electrical and Computer Engineering (ECE) | applications until December 31, 2021
• Engineering and Public Policy (EPP) | applications until December 15, 2021
• Human-Computer Interaction (HCI) | applications until December 9, 2021
• Spoken Language Technologies – Language Technologies (LTI) | applications until December 9, 2021
• Robotics (CS/R) | applications until December 9, 2021
• Software Engineering (SE) | applications until December 9, 2021

Applications must be submitted online via the page for each Doctoral Program at Carnegie Mellon University, and applicants must select the corresponding Doctoral Program within the CMU Portugal Program.

The Studentship will only be awarded if candidates are admitted to the Doctoral Program at CMU and the corresponding Portuguese university. Each candidate may submit only one application to the same doctoral program, under penalty of cancellation of all applications submitted.

The Call intended, in accordance with the FCT Studentships Regulations (RBI), to:

·National citizens, citizens of other Member States of the European Union;

·Citizensof third countries;

·Stateless persons;

· Citizens who have been granted political refugee status.

 The Studentships funded by FCT, under the collaboration agreement with CMU.
