CMU Portugal Program opens Call for PhD Studentships

FCT has opened applications for the 2022/2023 edition of the Call for Doctoral Studentships (BD) under the Carnegie Mellon Portugal Program (CMU Portugal). The Call aims to award up to 10 PhD Studentships , to be carried out in Portugal and at CMU (Carnegie Mellon University) in the context of dual PhD programs. The Call areas and respective application deadlines are as follows:

• Informatics - Computer Science (CS) | applications until 09/12/2021
• Electrical and Computer Engineering (ECE) | applications until 31/12/2021
• Engineering and Public Policy (EPP) | applications until 15/12/2021
• Human-Computer Interaction (HCI) | applications until 09/12/2021
• Spoken Language Technologies (LTI) | applications until 09/12/2021
• Robotics (CS/R) | applications until 09/12/2021
• Software Engineering (SE) | applications until 09/12/2021

Applications must be made online through the page of each Doctoral Program at Carnegie Mellon University, and applicants must select the corresponding Doctoral Program within the scope of the CMU Portugal Program.

The doctoral Studentship will only be awarded if the candidates are admitted to the doctoral program at CMU and the corresponding Portuguese university. Each candidate may submit only one application to the same doctoral program, under penalty of cancellation of all applications submitted.

In accordance with the FCT Research Studentships Regulation (RBI), a:

- National citizens, citizens of other Member States of the European Union;

- Third-country nationals;

- Stateless;

- Citizens granted political refugee status.

 The Studentships will be funded by the FCT, under the collaboration agreement with CMU.
