Exploratory Research Projects from the MIT Portugal and UT Austin Portugal programs

FCT has opened the Calls for Exploratory Research Projects under the partnerships established with the MIT Portugal and UT Austin Portugal programs.
Applications under the MIT Portugal program must be submitted by 5pm (Lisbon time) on December 5, 2019, and should aim to develop research activities between Portuguese universities and MIT with a view to creating intelligent solutions. A budget of 400,000 euros is planned, with a maximum funding limit of 50,000 euros for each project. Projects must address the following thematic areas: Climate Change and Climate Science; Earth Systems: from Oceans to Space; Digital Transformation in Industry; and Sustainable Cities.
The UTAustin-Portugal Call runs until 17:00 (Lisbon time) on December 17, 2019, and its main objective is to mobilize teams of researchers from non-business entities in the National Scientific and Technological System (SCTN) and the University of Texas at Austin (UT Austin), as well as business partners, for research activities. This Call covers different thematic areas, namely Advanced Computing; Medical Physics for Emerging Cancer Therapies; Nanomaterials for New Markets; and Space-Earth Interactions. The projects will be supported for a maximum period of 12 months, with a budget of 400 thousand euros.
