The Foundation for Science and Technology (FCT) has announced the results of its evaluation Call Scientific Research and Technological Development (IC&DT) projects in the field of Álvaro Siza Vieira's architecture, which concluded with the recommendation of five projects for funding, representing a total investment of €575,000. This is the result of Call first Call a two-edition program, determined by a protocol established between the Ministry of Science, Technology, and Higher Education (MCTES), the Ministry of Culture, and the Serralves Foundation, which made this integrated and multidisciplinary research program on the work of Álvaro Siza Vieira possible. During 2021, the FCT will publish the call for proposals for the second edition of this Call.
This program, which focuses on projects related to the architecture of Álvaro Siza Vieira, aims to contribute to the creation of a solid body of multidisciplinary knowledge about the work of architect Álvaro Siza Vieira. It does this by developing research in the different disciplines that make up his career and work, particularly by exploring the archives he donated, which are kept at the Serralves Foundation, the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation, and the Canadian Center for Architecture, which have agreed to their use.
