Roadmap for the European Research Area (ERA/EEI)

The Standing Working Group on Gender, Research, and Innovation (SWG GRI), in pursuit of its mission to advise the European Commission and the European Council on policies and initiatives on gender equality in research and innovation (R&I), has published the documents resulting from its activities. These documents make recommendations to Member States on "Gender Equality and Gender Issues in Research," which is one of the six priorities of the ERA Roadmap 2015-2020 defined by the European Research Area and Innovation Committee (ERAC).

The SWG GRI is a European group created within the framework of ERAC, which followed on from the Helsinki Group on Gender in Research and Innovation. Its activities aim to benefit scientists, research institutions, universities, companies, and society in general, contributing to the development of the European Research Area (ERA/EEI). Its core objectives are gender equality and equal opportunities in research careers; gender balance in leadership and decision-making positions; and the integration of the gender dimension into research and innovation content and programs.
