Science and Technology Week 2021

Science and Technology Week 2021 takes place this year from November 22 to 28 and is celebrated throughout the country with activities promoted by scientific institutions, universities, schools, museums, and science centers, in an initiative promoted and coordinated by Ciência Viva.

For one week, researchers and scientists showcase the work they do in different areas of science and technology, demonstrating their presence and contribution to people's daily lives and to the constant advances and promotion of scientific and technological culture in Portugal.

This year, the initiative also marks the 25th anniversary of the creation of National Scientific Culture Day, celebrated on November 24, a date chosen by the then Minister of Science, José Mariano Gago, in honor of science communicator Rómulo de Carvalho, who was born on that day.
