Information Session on COST

FCT will promote an informative session on COST (European Cooperation in Science and Technology) on October 31st, starting at 10:00 a.m., at the FCiências.ID Auditorium (C1 Building, Floor 3), at the Faculty of Sciences of the University of Lisbon.

The session is free of charge and FCT invites all the national scientific community to participate by registering here. The session will be broadcast by streaming.

COST's mission is to support the creation of transnational co-operative networks between researchers, engineers and academics across Europe to freely, openly and jointly develop their ideas and initiatives. These networks, called COST Actions, enable advances in the development of scientific knowledge, contributing to the strengthening of Europe as a leader in R&TD. Created in 1971, today COST has 36 member countries and one cooperating country.

Portugal is a success case in COST: currently, more than 1,000 national researchers benefit directly from the activities funded by the cooperation network, participating in more than 95% of the active COST Actions.
