Traineeships for Associate Engineers at CERN

It's happening until February 9th Call for the award of Technological Internship Studentships for Associate Engineers at CERN (European Organization for Nuclear Research). This Call , which is carried out under a protocol between the FCT and CERN, aims to provide young Portuguese researchers with the opportunity to undertake advanced training at that leading international scientific organization.

Technological Internships for Associate Engineers at CERN are intended for candidates with an undergraduate or master's degree obtained less than 6 years ago, or a doctorate degree obtained less than 3 years ago, in scientific and technological areas within CERN's fields of expertise. Candidates must be fluent in English and the duration of the Studentship is annual and may be extended up to a maximum of two years, subject to approval by the FCT.

This training opportunity at CERN is part of the FCT Technological Internships Program for advanced training of young Portuguese people in large International Scientific Organizations, which also include the European Southern Observatory (ESO) and the European Space Agency (ESA). The aim of these internships is for candidates to develop a complementary training plan (on-the-job training) in strategic technological areas to increase the competitiveness of Portuguese companies.
