World Science Day for Peace and Development is celebrated annually on November 10, promoted by UNESCO. The day aims to highlight the role of science in building a better world. "Celebrating science centers and museums" is the theme for this year's celebration.
UNESCO Director-General Irina Bokova issued a message on the occasion of this day, highlighting the paramount importance of science in the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, the Addis Ababa Action Agenda, the Sendai Framework for Disaster Risk Reduction, and the Paris Agreement on Climate Change. In her message, she highlights the role of science centers and museums, which are in the spotlight on this day, as they are living laboratories of creativity and promote research and the search for solutions to the problems facing our societies.
