On August 16, the Foundation for Science and Technology (FCT) published the final results of the Call Stimulate Scientific Employment - Institutional (CEEC Institutional - Associate Laboratories). Thirty-six of the 39 applications submitted by the laboratories were approved for funding and 120 contract positions for doctoral graduates were awarded for a period of 6 years, corresponding to a total financial investment of 41.3 million euros.

The distribution of positions to be funded by type and level of contract was as follows: 39 contracts under Decree-Law no. 57/2016 of August 29, for Junior Researchers (16) and Assistant Researchers (23); and 81 contracts for research careers concluded without a fixed term or for an indefinite period, in all categories.

CEECInst-LA aims to fund the hiring of doctoral graduates by Associate Laboratories (ALs), through financial support for scientific employment and career development plans, as part of the strategy to strengthen the critical mass needed to pursue specific national science and technology policy objectives, and bearing in mind the scientific challenges set out in the United Nations 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development. The aim is also to strengthen institutional network cooperation in order to contribute to increasing the competitiveness of the productive and social fabric, as well as strengthening the conditions for innovation. This call for tenders takes place under the Scientific Employment Regulation (REC), as part of the institutional Calls to support scientific employment.
