Science and Technology Archive (ACT)
ACT's mission is to process, preserve and disseminate the archival heritage held by the FCT and others of scientific and historical interest, thus contributing to the preservation of the history and memory of science and technology in Portugal. It reserves and manages documentation of undeniable interest and historical quality, which reflects Portuguese cultural and scientific activity, essentially from the second half of the 20th century onwards, largely translated into thousands of support processes for Studentships, institutions, research projects, among others. A collection of documents representing the history of institutions, scientific policies and the organization of science, of interest to all areas of knowledge. Due to the activities carried out by the FCT and its responsibility to guarantee the preservation of scientific documentary heritage, the archive has also included some personal collections of well-known personalities linked to scientific activity.
Science and Technology Library
The FCT Library gathers and makes available an important set of information resources, including national and international monographs and periodicals specializing in science and technology management and policies, institutional history and disciplines such as the history of science and technology. In addition to the FCT's own collection, it includes editions from the now defunct INIC and JNICT, as well as collections from personal collections.
INDEXAR - Directory of Digital Repositories
The creation of INDEXAR is the result of the need for a platform capable of identifying and providing an online reference for access to repositories and digital scientific journals in the area of science and culture, in an integrated manner. A Directory that allows information to be searched and identified in a complete, credible way and that enhances the visibility and dissemination of registered information.
SciELO - Online digital library
FCT is the National SciELO Unit and is responsible for the coordination and operation of SciELO Portugal, a service that provides information in different scientific fields, with the aim of promoting Portuguese scientific journals and disseminating quality national scientific production worldwide.
Latindex - Network for the dissemination of scientific publications
Since 1999, FCT has been the Portuguese institution coordinating the management of national participation in Latindex, a network for the dissemination of scientific publications. The aim is to disseminate, make accessible and raise the quality of scientific research, technical-professional and scientific and cultural dissemination journals published in the countries of Latin America, the Caribbean, Spain and Portugal.
