Winners of the Arquivo.pt Award to be announced at the 2024 Science Meeting

The application period for the Arquivo.pt Award, a digital service provided by the Foundation for Science and Technology and developed through FCCN, has ended.

There were 27 entries for the annual award, which recognizes research that uses information preserved in Arquivo.pt. Among the entries, 17 are mobile applications, six are studies, and there are also videos or video mockups. The proposals cover a wide range of topics, from social sciences, humanities, and politics to technology and natural sciences, among others.

The winner will receive a prize of €10,000, the runner-up will receive €3,000, and the third-best entry will receive €2,000. The jury will also choose the winners of the Call honorable mentions. Among the proposed works, 11 are candidates for the Jornal Público honorable mention and another 11 for the AMCC – Aveiro Media Competence Center honorable mention. Six are also proposed for the .PT honorable mention.

The winners will be announced at the Science Meeting 2024, which will take place from July 3 to 5 at the Alfândega Congress Center in Porto, with the theme "+Science for One Health and Global Well-being."

The Arquivo.pt 2025 Award, continuing the celebrations of the 50th anniversary of April 25, will include a special mention for works on the theme "April 25 and Democracy." With this new feature, researchers and interested citizens are challenged to create innovative works using Arquivo.pt.
