2nd Call the European Partnership FutureFoodS

The European Partnership FutureFoodS – European Partnership for a Sustainable Future of Food Systems has launched its 2nd Joint Call for funding transnational Research and Innovation projects. Pre-proposals may be submitted until 12:00 noon (Mainland Portugal time) on February 11, 2026.

This Call, with the theme "Accelerating Food Sustainability – through Household Dietary Shifts, Trust and Transparency, and Innovations in Circular Food Processing Systems,"involves 33 European and international funding agencies, including the Foundation for Science and Technology (FCT).

Proposals must address at least one of the following topics:

1. Domestic food practices for enhancing sustainable and healthy diets;
2. Towards diversified, sustainable, and circular food processing systems;
3. The importance of trust and transparency.

This partnership brings together 86 partners from 29 countries and is co-financed by the European Union under the Horizon Europe Framework Program. Portugal is represented by FCT, the National Institute for Agricultural and Veterinary Research, the University of Trás-os-Montes and Alto Douro, and the Center for Research and Development in Agri-Food Systems and Sustainability at the Polytechnic Institute of Viana do Castelo.
