3rd Session of the Cycle "Archives of Knowledge: Science, History and Memory"

Registration is now open for the 3rd session of the "Archives of Knowledge: Science, History and Memory", which will take place on June 4, starting at 2:30 p.m., at the premises of the Foundation for Science and Technology (FCT), at Av. D. Carlos I, 126, in Lisbon.
Paula Diogo, member of the FCT Board of Directors, and Paula Meireles, coordinator of the Science and Technology Archive, will open this session, which will feature guest speaker Maria de Fátima Nunes, from the Institute of Contemporary History of the New University of Lisbon (U.E. branch) and IN2PAST - University of Évora. She will speak on "From scientific periodism to materialities. Itineraries and intersections of sources".
The Science and Technology Archive (ACT) is unique in the history of scientific activity in Portugal, with the task of preserving and managing the documentary memory of national scientific production, translated into thousands of support processes for Studentships, institutions and research projects. Open to the public since December 16, 2011, it has a significant collection of documents that includes, in addition to the FCT's own archive from 1997 onwards, the collection of the National Board for Scientific and Technological Research (JNICT), from 1967 to 1997, and other public and private bodies, essentially in the area of science policies and funding in Portugal.
The cycle "Archives of Knowledge: Science, History and Memory", organized by the FCT, aims to disseminate the documentary collection of its Science and Technology Archive, as well as others relevant to the history and memory of Science and Technology in Portugal, through the promotion of five short sessions, held in an informal and sharing environment.
