4th Call of the European Partnership Water4All – “Water and Health”

The co-financed European PartnershipWater4All – Water Security for the Planet, with the participation of the Foundation for Science and Technology (FCT) as the national funding entity, is launching the 4th Joint Call for funding transnational research and innovation projects under the theme "Water and Health."

This Call 31 European and international funding agencies and aims to support projects that address critical challenges in the interconnection between water and human health, including:

  • contaminants in water and health risks: occurrence, behavior, interactions, and vulnerabilities;
  • innovative tools and technologies for monitoring water quality and human exposure;
  • water treatment and exposure mitigation technologies;
  • governance models, socioeconomic innovation, and integration of policies related to water and health.

Projects should contribute to the implementation of evidence-based water management policies and strategies, aligned with the European Green Deal, the Zero Pollution Action Plan, the Water Framework Directive, the Just Transition Mechanism, the Water Resilience Strategy, and the Sustainable Development Goals.

Water4All – Water Security for the Planet is co-funded under the Horizon Europe Framework Program and aims to bring together efforts, mobilize resources, and strengthen European leadership and competitiveness in water research and innovation. This partnership brings together 90 partners from 33 countries, both within and outside the European Union, and includes the European Commission. Portugal is represented by FCT, LIS-Water – Lisbon International Centre For Water, LNEC – National Laboratory for Civil Engineering, and the University of Évora.
