4th edition of the IN3+ Award

Applications are now open for the 4th edition of the IN3+ Award, promoted by Imprensa Nacional – Casa da Moeda (INCM). This initiative is aimed at all researchers, entrepreneurs, research centers, universities, and national and international companies or start-ups. The award, which aims to support and stimulate research and innovation in Portugal, is held under the High Patronage of the President of the Republic.

One million euros will be distributed among the selected projects in the areas of Advanced Information Systems; Nanotechnology; Production Technology and Advanced Materials; and Automation and Robotics. The winner will receive funding of up to €600,000, the runner-up up to €250,000, and third place up to €150,000.

Projects will be evaluated and selected based on:

• Creativity and innovation: originality of the idea, differentiation from the target market, progress in relation to the state of the art;
• Potential of the identified opportunity: Potential market size, existing competition, barriers to new players, potential for growth and integration into the value chain, potential for internationalization, potential for strengthening the INCM brand.

The award ceremony will take place in November 2023, on a date to be announced.
