5th Joint Call of the European Biodiversity Partnership “European Biodiversity Partnership”

The European Biodiversity PartnershipBiodiversa+, co-financed by the Foundation for Science and Technology (FCT) as the national funding body, is launching the 5th Joint Call for funding transnational Research and Innovation (R&I) projects. The theme of this edition is "Restoration of ecosystem functioning, integrity, and connectivity – BiodivConnect."

Aimed at funding R&I projects in priority areas defined in the Biodiversa+ Strategic R&I Agenda, this Call 38 European and international funding agencies from 30 countries. Applications submitted must address at least one of the following topics:

• Establishing restoration targets and measuring success
• Scaling and transferability of nature restoration efforts
• Sustentabilidade a longo prazo dos esforços de restauração

The deadline for submitting applications is 11:00 a.m. (Mainland Portugal time) on November 7, 2025. Proposals must demonstrate significant transnational added value and interdisciplinarity, involving, as necessary, multiple academic disciplines (natural sciences, technical sciences, social sciences, humanities, and arts).
