Registration is now open for the 5th Advanced Computing Meeting
You can now secure your place at the 5th edition of the Advanced Computing Meeting, which will take place on October 22 and 23, 2025, at the University of Aveiro Rectory.
The event brings together the national community linked to the field of High Performance Computing: users, researchers, technicians, and decision-makers, with the aim of promoting collaboration and skills development, creating a meeting point between academia, industry, public administration, and research centers.
The focus will be on sharing knowledge and discussing the evolution of Advanced Computing in Portugal and Europe, the opportunities offered by the National Center for Advanced Computing (CNCA), and the use of and access to the Deucalion and MareNostrum 5 supercomputers, funded by measure RE-C05-i08 – More Digital Science, of the National Recovery and Resilience Plan. In addition to these topics, this edition highlights the newly created Artificial Intelligence (AI) Factories and the latest developments in Quantum Computing.
The event begins with workshops on the introduction and optimization of computational work with demonstrations of the Deucalion supercomputer, followed by sessions dedicated to the National Center for Advanced Computing and technical support for users. There will also be presentations on access to national and European resources and panels dedicated to Quantum Computing and AI Factories, including sharing cases and experiences of using these resources.
Registration is free on the event website, where the program is available (currently being updated). All speakers and events at the meeting, including the social aspect that will promote networking among participants, will be announced over the coming weeks.
This initiative is organized by FCCN, the digital services of the Foundation for Science and Technology (FCT), and is supported by the National Center for Advanced Computing, co-financed by the National Recovery and Resilience Plan (PRR). The University of Aveiro and EuroCC, funded by the European EuroHPC initiative, are also joining the organization of this edition.
