The 6th Advanced Computing Conference will be held on November 3 and 4

The national Advanced Computing community will meet again on November 3 and 4 at the University of Minho in Braga for the 6th edition of the Advanced Computing Conference.

The initiative is organized by the Foundation for Science and Technology (FCT), through its digital services unit FCCN, in partnership with the University of Minho and the National Center for Advanced Computing (CNCA), and is sponsored by FSAS Technologies.

The event will bring together users, researchers, technical experts, and decision-makers with the aim of promoting collaboration, knowledge sharing, and skills development in this field, with a special focus on access to national and European resources available for research and innovation. The 2026 edition also aims to strengthen the dialogue between academia, industry, government, and research centers, fostering reflection on the evolution of Advanced Computing in Portugal and Europe.

Among the topics to be discussed will be the opportunities offered by the CNCA and the Advanced Computing Services, as well as by European initiatives such as the EuroHPC Joint Undertaking, EuroCC3, and the BSC AI Factory. The program will also include sessions dedicated to the application of Artificial Intelligence in research and industry, preparation for next-generation computing, and access to national and European supercomputers.

Throughout its various editions, which have always been held at different institutions of higher education, the Advanced Computing Conference has helped to build a growing community of users and experts, fostering discussion on the sector’s key challenges and opportunities.

The program for the 2026 edition, as well as the opening of registration and the first confirmed speakers, will be announced in the coming weeks.
