Angola's FUNDECIT visits FCT to discuss future collaborations

FUNDECIT's General Director, Mário Fresta and FCT's President, Madalena Alves

Created in 2021, the Foundation for Scientific and Technological Development (FUNDECIT) of Angola visited FCT for the first time last November 18. A FUNDECIT delegation, led by its Director-General, Mário Fresta, was received by the President of the FCT Board of Directors, Madalena Alves, and the Member of the FCT Board of Directors Amélia Polónia. In addition to presenting this new funding agency for science and technology in Angola and discussing possible forms of collaboration, considering the historical ties between the two countries and the existing cooperation between Angolan and Portuguese scientists, FUNDECIT invited FCT to participate in the Workshop Integrity and Ethics in Scientific Research, to be held in Luanda on 15-16 December.

The FCT also committed itself to helping FUNDECIT in its structural growth, from an operational point of view, by making itself available to provide technical training to the directors and employees of this Angolan institution.

The FCT and FUNDECIT have also committed to study the formalization of the interest of the parties in collaborating in the future, enabling the materialization of specific actions that promote cooperation between the respective scientific communities.
