Applications are now open for the Young Creators Awards – Megatrends 2050, promoted by PLANAPP in collaboration with DGLAB – Directorate-General for Books, Archives, and Libraries.

The Call the awarding of two prizes – the Short Story Prize and the Illustration Prize. Young Portuguese creators, or those residing in Portugal, aged between 18 and 30, can apply, using the preliminary report“Megatrends 2050 – A Changing World: Impacts on Portugal” as a starting point.

Applications are open until November 15, 2024, with cash prizes awarded to the top three entries in each category: €3,000 for first place, €2,000 for second place, and €1,000 for third place. The winning entries may be published in the report "Megatrends 2050 - The Changing World: Impacts on Portugal" (to be released in the first quarter of 2025), or included in the exhibition at the Public Administration Prospective Meeting (scheduled for next year).

These awards are part of the "Study of Megatrends in Portugal," a collaborative project in which FCT participates and which, among other objectives, aims to identify and regularly monitor a set of megatrends relevant to Portugal's future, analyzing their potential impacts at the national level.
