New Call for access to research infrastructure

Scientist working at Lab

The European Commission's Joint Research Center (JRC) has launched an Call for access to the Nanobiotechnology Laboratory as part of the framework for open access to its research infrastructures.

The priority topics in this Call :

  • Detection and characterization of micro(nano)plastics in media that contribute to human exposure (such as food, air, and water in domestic supply chains);
  • Detection and characterization of advanced materials, such as nanomaterials (including ingredients, additives, and food supplements) in various matrices (food, food packaging, among others) and their interactions with biological systems;
  • Characterization of liposomal base products and lipid nanoparticle systems of mRNA;
  • Characterization of biomacromolecules and interaction studies.

The applications focus on the diagnosis, treatment, and detection of diseases and pathogens.

Applications are open until May 21, 2024, 11:45 p.m. (CEST) and must be submitted via the Call page. Applicants may contact the JRC secretariat at JRC-OPEN-NANOBIOTECH@ec.europa.eu to assess the feasibility of their proposals prior to submission.

General information on JRC open access activities can be found in the JRC Research Infrastructures Brochure. FCT is responsible for disseminating news and opportunities related to the JRC.
