Opening of new Call JRC for access to research infrastructure

The European Commission's Joint Research Center (JRC) has launched an additional Call for access to the Nanobiotechnology Laboratory as part of the framework for open access to its research infrastructures.

The priority topics in this Call are:

• Detection and characterization of micro(nano)plastics in media that contribute to human exposure (such as food, air and water in domestic supply chains);
• Detection and characterization of advanced materials such as nanomaterials (including ingredients, additives and food supplements) in various matrices (food, food packaging, among others) and their interactions with biological systems;
• Characterization of liposomal-based products and m-RNA lipid nanoparticle systems;
• Characterization of biomacromolecules and interaction studies.

The applications focus on the diagnosis, treatment and detection of diseases and pathogens.

Applications are open until May 21, 2024, 23:45 (CEST) and must be submitted via the website Call. Applicants can contact the JRC secretariat at JRC-OPEN-NANOBIOTECH@ec.europa.eu to assess the viability of their proposals prior to submission.
