Opening of Call of the European Partnership FutureFoodS

The European Partnership FutureFoodS has launched its first Joint Call for funding transnational research and innovation projects on the theme of "Transforming food systems – reshaping food system interactions, promoting food innovations, and empowering sustainable food choices."

This Call 36 European and international funding agencies, including FCT, and aims to support projects in line with the following topics:The way towards sustainable and resilient food systems; New foods – Fostering innovations in food design, processing, and supply via demand-and-supply reorientation; and Empowering sustainable food choices – Enabling food environments and dietary shifts.

Co-funded under the Horizon Europe Framework Program, FuturefoodS – European Partnership for a Sustainable Future of Food Systems aims to collectively achieve, by 2050, food systems in Europe that are environmentally friendly, socially safe and fair, economically viable, healthy and safe, and that respect the planet's limits.

This partnership brings together 86 partners from 29 EU countries and beyond, including the European Commission. Portugal is represented by FCT, the National Institute for Agricultural and Veterinary Research (INIAV), the University of Trás-os-Montes and Alto Douro (UTAD), and the Center for Research and Development in Agri-Food Systems and Sustainability (CISAS) of the Polytechnic Institute of Viana do Castelo.

Pre-proposals may be submitted until 12:00 noon (Mainland Portugal time) on January 15, 2025.
