AI²: public presentation of the methodology

The methodology for defining national research and innovation priorities within the scope of the creation of the Agency for Research and Innovation (AI²) will be presented publicly on February 24, starting at 10:00 a.m., at the Técnico Innovation Center in Lisbon. Registration is free but mandatory and must be completed by February 19.

This session will feature presentations by Alessandra Colecchia, Head of the Science and Technology Policy Division at the OECD, who will share international perspectives on science, technology, and innovation; Maria Rosário Partidário, Project Team Coordinator, who will present the methodology; and Ricardo Reis, Monitoring Committee Coordinator.

Eugénio Campos Ferreira will present an analysis of the current National Scientific, Technological, and Innovation Ecosystem at an event that will also feature the participation of Carlos Oliveira, President of the National Council for Science, Technology, and Innovation.

The opening session will be led by the Minister of Education, Science, and Innovation, Fernando Alexandre. The Minister of Economy and Territorial Cohesion, Manuel Castro Almeida, will close the event, which will also be attended by the Secretary of State for Science and Innovation, Helena Canhão, and the Secretary of State for the Economy, João Rui Ferreira.

AI² was created as part of the reform of the National Science and Technology System (SNCT), resulting from the merger between FCT and the National Innovation Agency (ANI), with the mission of promoting, financing, and evaluating scientific research and the development of technological and business innovation in Portugal.
