Hands touching virtual world

Applications are open until May 15 for the 2024 edition of the Short-Term Research Internships at the University of Texas at Austin initiative, as part of the UTAustin Portugal Program, funded by FCT.

This initiative, which aims to provide an immersion period of 2 to 3 months at the University of Texas at Austin, is aimed at professors, researchers or master's and doctoral students affiliated with a higher education institution, R&D center or R&D company established in Portugal.

The internship will allow you to carry out research and development activities in one of the Program's areas: Advanced Computing; Nanosciences and Nanotechnologies; Space-Earth Interactions. In this year's edition, applications involving themes related to Clean Energy will be considered of strategic relevance, as long as they fall within the scope of the aforementioned areas.

With an overall budget of €90,000, the monthly stipend will be €2,500 for candidates with a doctorate and €1,950 for candidates with a master's or bachelor's degree. In addition to the monthly internship stipend, beneficiaries will also have access to health insurance of up to €500, a travel allowance of €600 and personal accident insurance.

While at UT Austin, candidates will benefit from an immersive experience in the American university ecosystem where they will be able to explore and develop collaborations at the institutional/faculty/departmental level, participate in interdisciplinary and collaborative research activities and acquire and transfer new knowledge.
