Applications are now open for research internships at the University of Texas at Austin
Applications for the 2024 edition of the Short-Term Research Internships at the University of Texas at Austin initiative, part of the UTAustin Portugal Program funded by FCT, are open until May 28.
This initiative, which aims to provide a 2- to 3-month immersion period at the University of Texas at Austin, is aimed at professors, researchers, or master's and doctoral students affiliated with a higher education institution, R&D center, or R&D company established in Portugal.
The internship will enable research and development activities to be carried out in one of the Program's areas: Advanced Computing; Nanosciences and Nanotechnologies; Space-Earth Interactions. In this year's edition, applications involving topics related to clean energy will be considered of strategic relevance, provided they fall within the scope of the above-mentioned areas.
With a total budget allocation of €90,000, the monthly stipend will be €2,500 for candidates with a PhD and €1,950 for candidates with a master's or bachelor's degree. In addition to the monthly internship allowance, beneficiaries will also have access to health insurance worth up to €500, a travel allowance of €600, and personal accident insurance.
While at UT Austin, candidates will benefit from an immersive experience in the American university ecosystem where they can explore and develop collaborations at the institutional/faculty/departmental level, participate in interdisciplinary and collaborative research activities, and acquire and transfer new knowledge.
