In the Horizon Europe 2025 Research Infrastructure program, 126 projects were selected, two of which are coordinated nationally. Portugal had Calls total of 24 projects approved in these Calls , including 36 national participations, which translates into a total of €6.57 million in funding for entities in the National Science and Technology System.

Among the national entities funded by this program, those that have attracted the most funding include MIRRI-ERIC (Microbial Resource Research Infrastructure – European Research Infrastructure Consortium, based at the University of Minho), CCMAR (Algarve Marine Science Center), and LIP (Laboratory of Instrumentation and Experimental Particle Physics), the latter with the highest number of project participations (four).

TheFoundation for Science and Technology coordinates national representation and participation in Horizon Europe, the European framework program for research and innovation for the period 2021-2027, in areas dedicated to the European Research Council, Marie Sklodowska-Curie Actions, Research Infrastructures, and WIDERA.
