Closing Ceremony of the 4th Edition of the Mário Ruivo Award
The Final Ceremony of the Mário Ruivo Award 2024 will take place on November 16, National Sea Day, at 3:00 p.m., at the Portuguese Film Library in Lisbon.
There are four categories in Call: the "Message" category, awarding the film that best conveys the message of the ocean's role for humanity, sustainability, and global balance; the "Creativity" category, which rewards the film that stands out the most in terms of creative concept, directing techniques, and production used; the "Scientific Culture" category, which distinguishes the film that best conveys the importance of ocean science for the benefit of society and the environment; and the "Future" category, which recognizes the film submitted by candidates aged between 14 and 17 that receives the best evaluation, combining message and creativity.
Call its fourth edition, which received 44 videos, the jury awarded joint prizes and an honorable mention in all categories.
The organization of this initiative is the responsibility of the Award Organizing Committee (COP), coordinated by DGPM – Directorate-General for Maritime Policy, and includes FCT, IPMA – Portuguese Institute for Sea and Atmosphere, EMEPC – Mission Structure for the Extension of the Continental Shelf, the Portuguese Film Archive, DGE – Directorate-General for Education, and APA – Portuguese Environment Agency.
