Science for Public Policy: mutual learning in the European Union
The report Mutual learning exercise on bridging the gap between science and policy – Publications Office of the EU. This document is the result of an exercise promoted by the European Commission, entitled "Mutual Learning Exercise"(MLE) – "Bridging the Gap Between Science and Policy," in which the Foundation for Science and Technology (FCT) participated on behalf of Portugal.
The MLE aimed to facilitate the exchange of information, experiences, and lessons learned, and to identify good practices, policies, and programs that promote Science for Public Policy (S4P). The work carried out in this area was structured around four main themes: knowledge sharing, scientific advice, ecosystem assessment and analysis, and trust in science.
The report now published highlights the main contributions resulting from this exercise and recommendations for actions to be supported, aimed at developing evidence-based policy-making and improving national Science for Policy (S4P) ecosystems.
