FCT represented at the Caixa Research ceremony

The ceremony to present the results of the 2024 edition of Call ”la Caixa” Foundation's Call for Health Research took place on November 13, 2024, in Madrid.

The event was attended by the Chair of the FCT Governing Board, Madalena Alves, as well as representatives from the “la Caixa” Foundation and the researchers responsible for the 29 projects selected for funding, nine of which are led by Portuguese higher education institutions and research centers.

Selected from among 580 applications, these projects led by national institutions will receive a total of €7.6 million to address health challenges in areas such as infectious diseases and oncology, among others.

This Iberian initiative is carried out in Portugal through the association of FCT with Calls Health Research Calls , which, based on a matching funds approach, provided €2.5 million in support for three additional projects led by Portuguese institutions, for a total of nine Portuguese projects selected in this edition.
