Call Studentships Research Fund promotes scientific collaboration between Portugal and the United Kingdom

Applications for the Bilateral Research Fund (BRF) 2024 program are open until April 22. This is an initiative of PARSUK – Portuguese Association of Researchers and Students in the UK, funded by FCT, which aims to establish and develop scientific collaborations between Portugal and the United Kingdom.

BRF is an annual program that provides PhD researchers and early-career researchers with the opportunity to obtain a Studentship up to €3,000. Five proposals are expected to be funded, with the Call having Call annual budget of €15,000.

The principal applicant must be affiliated with a research institution in Portugal or the United Kingdom and may have several co-investigators. At least one co-investigator must be based in the partner country (for example, if the principal applicant is based at a Portuguese research institution, the co-investigator must be based at a British research institution).

This collaboration between FCT and PARSUK is part of the protocol between the two institutions, signed in 2019 and renewed in December 2023.
