Call scientific cooperation between Brazil and Portugal promotes the creation of new lines of research

The Foundation for Science and Technology (FCT), the National Council for Scientific and Technological Development (CNPq), and the Oswaldo Cruz Foundation (Fiocruz), through the Oswaldo Cruz House (COC) – Brazil, have announced the opening of Call the Casa de Oswaldo Cruz International Research Excellence Program (PROEP-INTER 2025).

The Call foster collaborative research projects between the two countries, focusing on the creation of new lines of research, the training of qualified researchers, and the deepening of institutional partnerships. Academic mobility and the supervision of postgraduate students are also part of this program's guidelines.

Funding will be provided for selected transnational research projects that are innovative in nature, carried out within an international cooperation network, and focus on the following themes: Anthropocene, climate, and health over the long term (19th-21st centuries); Circulation of knowledge in the Portuguese-speaking world (19th-21st centuries); Science and citizenship: dialogues with society; Memory as a right. Proposals must be submitted by 11:59 p.m. (Brasília time) on April 30, 2025, on the CNPq application platform.
