The application period for Call IC&DT projects in Artificial Intelligence, Data Science, and Cybersecurity relevant to Public Administration, carried out under the investment "RE-C05-i08 - More Digital Science,"financed by the Recovery and Resilience Plan (PRR), closed on July 31. A total of 117 applications were submitted, demonstrating the growing interest in these areas.

Of the total number of applications submitted, around 25% were submitted by women and 75% by men. The total funding requested was €13,738,747.83.

This Call support scientific research and technological development (R&TD) projects at all stages, from exploratory activities to proof of concept, with relevance for public administration entities, in the following thematic areas:

  • Artificial intelligence and data science;
  • Digital service design and interaction design, from an interdisciplinary and user-centered perspective;
  • Cybersecurity;
  • Artificial Intelligence Governance.

The field of artificial intelligence, in the areas of data science and governance, attracted the highest number of applications with 80%, followed by cybersecurity with 11% and digital service design and interaction design with 9%, without prejudice to the potential overlap between these areas.

Potential beneficiaries include higher education institutions and research units, as well as armed forces units and companies.

The provisional results of this Call expected to Call available in November 2024. Approved projects will be fully funded by the PRR investment “RE-C05-i08 – Ciência Mais Digital” (More Digital Science), with a budget allocation Call €8,375,000 for this Call .
