UT Austin Portugal Annual Conference Taking Discovery to Market: Crafting Impactful Science

The UT Austin Portugal Program Annual Conference, “Taking Discovery to Market: Crafting Impactful Science,” will be held on October 29, 2024, at the Instituto Superior Técnico – Taguspark, in Oeiras. This conference will address topics related to innovation, knowledge enhancement, and technology transfer.

This event will explore the journey of scientific discoveries from their inception to their implementation in the market, the challenges, strategies, and methodologies that bridge the gap between laboratory research and commercial application, and increase the social impact of scientific efforts.

The event agenda includes different types of sessions, from keynotes to round tables and talks. The main topics will include the integration of interdisciplinary research, effective collaboration between academia and industry, and the role of technology transfer offices in facilitating commercialization. It also proposes to imagine the future and reflect on the place of science in shaping it and what is needed to transform scientific discoveries into practical applications that help us face the greatest challenges of the future.

The conference is free of charge, but registration is required by October 22.
