Public Consultation on Open Access Policy for publications funded by FCT

A public consultation is underway until May 22 for a new Open Access policy resulting from the Foundation for Science and Technology (FCT) joining Plan S, promoted by cOAlition S, which advocates that all publications resulting from public funding of its members should be made available in open access journals or platforms.

Scientific progress depends, to a large extent, on the free flow of scientific research results. Open access to scientific publications contributes to achieving this result, and is essential when publications are the result of public funding.
