Public Consultation on Open Access Policy for FCT funded publications

The public consultation for a new Open Access policy is taking place until 22 May. This policy results from the adherence of the Foundation for Science and Tecnology (FCT) to Plan S, promoted by cOAlition S, which advocates that all publications resulting from public funding of its members should be made available in open access journals or platforms.

Scientific progress depends to a large extent on the free flow of scientific research results. Open access to scientific publications contributes to achieving this result, and is necessary when publications result from public funding.
