The Public Consultation on the European Framework for Science Diplomacy is open until November 3, with the aim of gathering relevant information to define the scope and objectives of a future European framework in this field. This consultation, which also aims to improve coordination and synergies in science diplomacy efforts in Europe, covers stakeholders in science diplomacy within and outside the European Union (EU), in particular countries associated with the Horizon Europe program.

The European Framework for Science Diplomacy is an initiative that aims to strengthen Europe's competitive position as a global player in the field of science and technology. It also aims to defend the EU's strategic interests and technological sovereignty, promote its principles and values, and reinforce Europe's commitment to the sustainable management of global public and common goods and the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals.

In 2021, the Conclusions on the Global Approach to Research and Innovation highlighted the importance of developing a European Agenda for Science Diplomacy.

In a context of rapid geopolitical and scientific-technological change, it is essential that the EU adopt measures to develop a coherent and strategic framework for science diplomacy. This is a key instrument for the partnerships to be established by the EU, and also for reducing vulnerabilities and promoting values and principles that contribute to the global public good.

Until the deadline, you can also share comments and submit suggestions on the page dedicated to this public consultation.
