FCT is a member of the AirTN network (2006-2008), a project involving 25 European Funding Agencies from 16 countries and EUROCONTROL, which seek to identify best practices as a basis for the cooperation needed to implement the European Research Area (ERA).

This project is especially dedicated to promoting transnational cooperation between funding agencies for aeronautics research. While contributing to the European Union's strategy, this project will allow funding agencies to share existing activities, compare future strategies and recommendations from advisory bodies to systematically explore opportunities for future collaborations.
