MNT-ERA.NET

MNT-ERA.NET is a network of European programs supporting Micro and Nanotechnologies (MNTs) composed of 21 funding agencies or national/regional ministries from 20 countries/regions in Europe. It was launched in March 2009 for a period of two and a half years and continues the activities of the same network that began in 2004 under the European Union's Sixth Framework Program (FP6) with the aim of improving the coordination of national funding. The main objectives of MNT-ERA.NET are:
- Promote the competitiveness of European industry through the coordination and rationalization of measures to support SMEs;
- Improve cooperation between funding agencies, industry, research institutions, and universities;
- Promote annually the opening of Calls for market-oriented R&D projects, which will typically be smaller than projects submitted to FP7 and will benefit from faster funding decisions.
