MNT-ERA.NET is a network of European programs supporting Micro and Nano Technologies (MNTs) composed of 21 funding agencies or national/regional ministries from 20 countries/regions in Europe. It was started in March 2009 with a duration of two and a half years and continues the activities of the same network started in 2004 under the 6th Framework Programme of the European Union (FP6) with the aim of improving the coordination of national funding. The main objectives of MNT-ERA.NET are:

  • Promote the competitiveness of European industry by coordinating and streamlining measures to support NTMs;
  • Improve cooperation between funding agencies, industry, research institutions and universities;
  • Promote the annual opening of Calls transnational projects for market-oriented R&D, which will typically be smaller than projects submitted to FP7 and will benefit from faster funding decisions.
