ERA-NET Cofund in Ocean Energy
Supporting collaborative innovation in the Ocean Energy sector

The ERA-NET Cofund in Ocean Energy (OCEANERA-NET COFUND) is an initiative of eight national and regional government agencies from six European countries, which has received funding from the European Union under the Horizon 2020 Program for R&I. The participating countries/regions are: the Basque Country, Brittany, Ireland, the Pays de la Loire, Portugal, Scotland, Spain, and Sweden.
The goal is to coordinate support for ocean energy research and development, to encourage collaborative projects that address some of the key challenges identified for the sector as it moves toward commercialization.
The main objectives are to maintain and increase Europe's global leadership position in ocean energy, to help bring innovative low-carbon energy solutions closer to commercial deployment, to reduce the levelized cost of energy (LCoE), to create growth and jobs, and to reduce the environmental impact of the energy system.
This initiative has received funding from the European Union's Horizon 2020 research and innovation program under grant agreement No. 731200.
