Call CaixaImpulse – Innovation in Health is now open

The application period for the 2026 edition of the CaixaImpulse Innovation in Health Program of the ”la Caixa” Foundation is open until February 19, 2026.

This Call to transfer research results from the laboratory to patients by supporting projects of excellence promoted by research centers, hospitals, and universities. Legal entities in the public or non-profit sector based in Portugal or Spain are eligible to apply, namely universities, university foundations, research and transfer centers, technology centers, hospitals, hospital foundations, and non-profit institutions whose main activity is biomedical research.

The ”la Caixa” Foundation has scheduled an information session on this Call January 14, 2026 (10:00 a.m. CET). Registration must be done here.

The CaixaImpulse Innovation in Health Program was created in 2015 by the ”la Caixa” Foundation. Since then, €28.8 million has been awarded and 263 projects have been supported, leading to the creation of 54 spinoffs and the subsequent obtaining of additional co-financing, through other Calls private investors, worth more than €180 million. Since joining this program in 2022, the Foundation for Science and Technology (FCT) has directly supported six projects led by national institutions, with around €318,000.
