Research Internships and Training Opportunities at UT Austin

The Foundation for Science and Technology (FCT) announces the launch of the 4th Phase of the UT Austin Portugal Program, with the opening of Call Research Internships at the University of Texas at Austin (UT Austin) and the 2025 Training Academy.

Research internships at UT Austin last between three and six months, and participants benefit from a period of immersion at UT to carry out research activities on topics related to advanced computing, nanotechnologies, space-earth technologies, and clean energy. They also benefit from a comprehensive support package during their mobility period. Teachers, researchers, master's or doctoral students, and industry professionals affiliated with a higher education institution, R&D center, or company with R&D activity in Portugal are eligible for these internships. The 2025 Training Academy aims to develop skills in Advanced Computing and Space-Earth Technologies, and includes a selection of online courses with UT Austin. The upcoming courses will be taught in collaboration with UT Austin's Texas Engineering Executive Education:

  • Building Smart Documents and Compliance Tables with LLMs: June 30 and July 1 (6 hours)
  • SysML2 via Scripting: Automating Systemic Thinking: July 7 and 8 (6 hours)
  • Observing Earth from Space: Laser Altimetry and Beyond: July 10 and 11 (8 hours)
  • Scientific machine learning and accelerated computing: July 14 and 15 (6 hours)
