European Marine Board launches 'EMBracing the Ocean' artist-in-residence program

The European Marine Board (EMB), of which FCT is a member along with CIMAR-LA (composed by CCMAR and CIIMAR), launched the 2023-2024 edition of its artistic residency program "EMBracing the Ocean" whose applications run until February 20, 2023.

The program seeks two new artists with the goal of awarding grants of €10,000 to creative individuals and groups to co-create artworks in collaboration with ocean scientists. The intent of the program is to expand, through art, societies' awareness of the ocean's value and inspire far-reaching social change for its sustainability.

This initiative is aimed at creative individuals or groups, and both emerging and established artists can apply to be evaluated by a committee. Previous experience in co-creation with scientists and/or communities and work on sustainability issues will be considered in the evaluation.
