FCT supports Studentships research and doctoral Studentships 2024/25

Applications for Studentships DoctoralStudentships andStudentships ResearchStudentships , which are supported by FCT, are open until January 31, 2024.

The Studentships Doctoral Studentships Program is intended for students who will be attending, in person and full-time, the first year of a doctoral program at an accredited university in the United States of America, beginning in the 2024/2025 academic year. Preference will be given to students whose academic career has been developed at a Portuguese higher education institution.

The Studentships Research Studentships program is intended for doctoral fellows directly funded by FCT who have planned, as part of their training plan, to conduct a period of research at a US university or research center, and covers all areas of study. This Studentship from 4 to 9 months. Selected candidates receive support from both the FCT and Fulbright, which provides them with supplementary health and accident insurance during the Studentship period, issuance of the necessary documents for the J-1 visa, among other benefits.
