FCT supports Fulbright research and doctoral Studentships 2024/25

Applications for Fulbright PhDStudentships and Fulbright ResearchStudentships , which are supported by FCT, are open until January 31, 2024.

The Fulbright Doctoral Studentships Program is aimed at students who are going to attend the first year of a full-time doctoral program at an accredited university in the United States of America, starting in the academic year 2024/2025. Preference will be given to students whose academic career has been developed at a Portuguese higher education institution.

The Fulbright Research Studentships program is aimed at doctoral students directly funded by the FCT who have planned, as part of their training plan, to carry out a period of research at a US university or research center, and covers all areas of study. This Studentship lasts between 4 and 9 months. The selected candidates receive support from FCT and Fulbright, which provides them with supplementary health and accident insurance for the duration of the Studentship and the necessary documents for a J-1 visa, among other benefits.
