The Foundation for Science and Technology (FCT) has updated the value of all Studentships covered by the Studentships Regulations.

The update takes effect from January 1, 2025, and has already begun to be paid to those who benefit from Studentship directly contracted with the FCT. It is expected that by the end of March of this year, all updates will have been made, including the payment of retroactive amounts where due.

The evolution of the value of monthly maintenance grants for all Studentships determined annually by the FCT Governing Board, taking into account the evolution of the minimum wage for each year. For 2025, the minimum wage has been set at €870, corresponding to an increase of €50 over the previous year.

The FCT Governing Board decided to set the increase in Studentships line with the nominal increase in the minimum wage, and also determined that it should apply to those receiving Studentships to the types provided for in previous regulations, which are still in force.

The new table of Studentships values is now available for consultation.
