FCT co-organizes the Workshop “Measures to Support Research Careers”

FCT and INESC TEC, in collaboration with the European Commission's Directorate-General for Research and Innovation, are organizing a workshop on the theme "Measures to Support Research Careers," under Action 4 – attractive research careers, the circulation of researchers, and mobility – of the ERA Policy Agenda. The event will take place on April 17, 2024, between 9:00 a.m. and 5:15 p.m. at the Faculty of Engineering of the University of Porto and also online.

This workshop has three objectives:

1) promote the support measures contained in the Council Recommendation within the European Framework for Research Careers, recently approved by the Council of the European Union.

2) encourage greater use of the support measures provided for in this Recommendation, such as EURAXESS and ERA TALENT Platform, among others, highlighting in this regard the Human Resources Strategy for Research – HRS4R Seal – which is important for participation in Horizon Europe and the future EU Framework Program for Research and Innovation (FP10). It also aims to encourage participation in future Calls the Horizon Europe WIDERA Program, promoting greater participation in these instruments at the national level.

3) encourage dialogue and the sharing of experiences between Member States and research and higher education institutions on the best ways to implement and participate in the instruments referred to, identifying any specific constraints and ways to overcome them.

The event is aimed at managers and those responsible for human resources strategy in public and private research institutions and higher education institutions, as well as delegates to Action 4.

The workshop "Measures to Support Research Careers" will be held in a hybrid format (in-person and online participation), with free participation upon mandatory registration by April 15 via this link.
