FCT makes José de Melo Torres Campos' archive available to the public

News José Torres Campos

To mark the 50th anniversary of April 25, the FCT has made the José de Melo Torres Campos Archive available for consultation through its Science and Technology Archive (ACT). This archive contains pre- and post-April Revolution documentation mainly related to industrial development and the business reality of the time.

Torres Campos' biography and Archival Authority Record provide further insight into the man who left behind, for collective memory, documentation representing the years leading up to the April Revolution and the early years of democratic Portugal.

This archive was organized by José de Melo Torres Campos himself, within the scope of his professional activity. He held various public positions related to Portuguese industrial production, especially in the 1970s and 1980s. The preserved documents bear witness to the national business reality during those decades.

The archive is available to anyone who wishes to study this period of history and/or learn more about the national industry.
