FCT releases provisional results of the CEEC Institutional – Associate Laboratories
Today, March 7, the Foundation for Science and Technology (FCT) published theprovisional results ofCall Proposals to Stimulate Scientific Employment – Institutional – (CEEC Institutional – Associate Laboratories). Thirty-six of the 39 applications submitted by the Laboratories were approved for funding, and 120 doctoral contract positions were awarded for a period of six years, corresponding to a total financial investment of €41.3 million.
The distribution of positions to be funded by type and level of contract was as follows: 43 contracts under Decree-Law No. 57/2016 of August 29, for Junior Researchers (16) and Assistant Researchers (27); and 77 contracts for research careers concluded without term or for an indefinite period, in all categories. The contracts will result from recruitment and selection procedures opened by the beneficiary institutions.
CEECInst-LA aims to finance the hiring of PhDs byAssociate Laboratories LA) through financial support for scientific employment and career development plans, as part of the strategy to strengthen the critical mass needed to pursue specific national science and technology policy objectives, bearing in mind the scientific challenges set out in the United Nations 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development. It also aims to strengthen institutional cooperation within networks, in order to contribute to increasing the competitiveness of the productive and social fabric, as well as strengthening the conditions for innovation. This competitive procedure is carried out under the Scientific Employment Regulation (REC), within the scope of Calls for scientific employment support.
