FCT and “la Caixa” Foundation launch the 5th edition of the Promove Program

Applications for the 5th edition (2023) of the Promove Program, an initiative of the “la Caixa” Foundation in partnership with BPI and FCT, are now open and will run until February 7, 2023.

The Promove Program aims to support innovative initiatives in strategic areas for the development of inland regions with border dynamics that can be replicated in other regions with similar characteristics.

The 2023 edition of the program supports three types of initiatives:

• Innovative pilot projects;
• Mobilizing R&D projects;
• Ideas with the potential to become innovative pilot projects.

Considering that the partnership with FCT is exclusively for project funding, the following may apply for Call Innovative Pilot Projects: companies , regardless of legal form and size; entities of the National Science and Technology System or other private non-profit entities; individually or in a consortium. In the case of consortia, applications may include entities from central and local government and the public business sector, as well as informal groups that work for the common good but are not formally registered.

For the Call Mobilizing R&D Projects, applications must be led by R&D units that have been rated Very Good or Excellent in the most recent evaluation by the FCT, and may have as partners any non-business entities, of any legal form and size, from the National Scientific and Technological System, namely: higher education institutions, their institutes, and R&D units; State or international laboratories based in Portugal; private non-profit institutions whose main purpose is R&D activities, as well as other public and private non-profit institutions that develop or participate in scientific research activities. In the case of consortia, applications may also include central and local government entities, public sector companies, and companies of any nature and legal form.
